Kentucky Department of Corrections Commissioner James Erwin announced on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 that Michael McKinney has been promoted to deputy warden of operations at Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex in West Liberty. McKinney has worked in the Department of Corrections since May 2001. He began working with Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex in 2013. He has worked within the Kentucky state government for 20 years, having held positions in corrections and parks in financial and administrative roles. In addition to his assigned duties, McKinney has also served as a public information officer, hostage negotiation team member, and PREA coordinator.
