Update: Body Found in Breathitt County Identified

Update: We have an update on a body that was found in Breathitt County. A positive identification has been made on the body recovered in the North Fork of the Kentucky River in Breathitt County. Kentucky State Police Post 13 Detective Josh Huff spoke with the State Medical Examiner’s Office who confirmed the identification of the body as 44-year-old Kenneth Neace of Jackson. Cause of death has not yet been determined. Neace was reported missing to Kentucky State Police Post 13 on March 17, 2019. Original story: A body was discovered in the North Fork of the Kentucky River the morning of Saturday, April 27, 2019 in Breathitt County. Kentucky State Police Post 14 Telecommunicators received a call shortly after 9am advising that a body had been found in the river adjacent to Elige Roberts Road in the Altro community. KSP personnel responded to the scene along with Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officers, Wolfcoal Fire Department, and Jackson Fire Department members. At the scene, the body was located and removed from the river. Breathitt County Coroner Hargis Epperson made a pronouncement of death at 10:45am. The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for autopsy. The identity is not known at this time. We will update this story when more information becomes available.
