A tractor-trailer fire shut down I-75 southbound in Lexington. Crews are working near mile marker 118. Reports of the fire began coming in around 1:30 a.m. Monday. Police expect the southbound lanes to be blocked until at least 8:30 a.m. The driver of the semi was the first person to call in the fire. That driver was able to get out of the truck without any injuries. The truck was hauling some sort of plastic that smoldered for hours. Crews got the fire under control around 5 a.m. Some diesel fuel from the semi leaked onto the ground. A tow truck and environmental crews were working to clear up the scene.
